Skimming in Final Cut Pro

Saturday, August 11th, 2007

Everyone’s making a lot of noise about iMovie’s new Skimming feature. What people seem to be forgetting, or never knew, is that Final Cut Pro has skimming as well for clips in it’s bin. The issue is that it’s hidden, isn’t set up to use right away and it’s not as fluid as in iMovie […]

Apple’s New Keyboard

Tuesday, August 7th, 2007

While the leaked thin keyboards from Apple were close, they weren’t the exact same as the ones announced today. But…I still don’t like them.
They remind me of this (which means I’m old):

That’s from 1983. I remember programming on one at a friend’s house.
Still, it’s weird not having an Apple logo on the Command key.

How Walkable is Your Address?

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

Walkscore uses google maps to try and figure out what’s close enough to walk to from a given address, then it assigns that address a walkability score.
My house scored a 2. I live no where.

Mailplane

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

Mailplane is a desktop application to access and use Gmail. It’s kinda like hooking in gmail’s account info into mail.app only this is more integrated. I don’t really see the overall point to it but it’s an interesting idea. I like the portability of having gmail in a browser so you can use it just […]

Errorsafe Pop-Up for Macintosh

Friday, July 27th, 2007

Guess what? You don’t have to worry about it really all that much if you’re on a Mac. It’s EXTREMELY annoying, as in people are threatening to kill the people doing this if they find them annoying, because it is dangerous for PC users but for Mac users it’s just, like I said, annoying.
What is […]

Apple’s New Anti-Theft Idea

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

This is a neat idea.
…While there have been some attempts to dissuade thieves from stealing our things, most have been pretty easy to get around. But what if a thief knew that if he (or she) stole that iPod, it would only have one charge cycle left before it became useless?
