PSP Thoughts

Thursday, March 31st, 2005

Well I’ve owned a PSP now long enough that I’ve come to some conclusions.
01) No Hard Drive - Limits it’s usability severely. The only user recordable format you can use in it is a Memory Stick Duo and as of this writing 2Gig is the largest you can get but that’s still small and costs […]

Tivo’s FastForward Pop-Up Ads

Thursday, March 31st, 2005

As you can see here Tivo has decided that giving us “complete” control over our television viewing actually only now means 99% control. On some Tivos -more and more are being updated to do this- when you fast forward thru commercials, something which is second nature to me now, on some Tivo’s an ad will […]

Pope gets a Feeding Tube

Thursday, March 31st, 2005

So the irony is, Terri Shiavo gets her feeding tube yanked (she’s now dead, thankfully) and the Pop gets one inserted. Ironic don’tcha think? Hopefully he’ll be dead soon as well and we can move on.

Prepare to waste a significant part of your day watching old commercials here.
Of course if you weren’t born until the 80’s you couldn’t care less.
(if you need more retro entertainment pop over here.)

RandomWeb ScreenSaver

Tuesday, March 29th, 2005

I thought this was a pretty interesting little app.
The RandomWeb screensaver randomly searches the internet for digital photos taken by the more popular commercial digital cameras and displays them. There are also modes to search by phrase (or word) and by site.
From one of the reviews:
A strangely compelling application for a reason I have difficulty […]

Jurors’ Bible study reason penalty tossed

Tuesday, March 29th, 2005

I can’t decide what I think of this.
The Colorado Supreme Court yesterday threw out the death penalty in a rape-and-murder case because jurors had studied Bible verses such as “an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth” during deliberations.
On a 3-2 vote, justices ordered Robert Harlan to serve life in prison without parole […]

Soft Dinosaur Tissue Found

Monday, March 28th, 2005

Some scientists have discovered softtissue inside a dinosaur bone.
While recovering dinosaur DNA may be improbable, scientists hope to recover intact proteins from the soft tissue. Proteins are less fragile and more abundant than DNA, and may provide clues to the evolutionary relationship of dinosaurs to other animals.
